Kyrgyzstan's Botir Air will start its passenger flights from Osh to Sharjah this month.

The round trip fare will be Dh1,645 ($448), a local report said.

Botir Air Kader Jan Batirov said Sharjah would be the first international destination for his airline, which operates in the CIS only. Botir Air will use Tuplov 154 aircraft for its passenger flights.

Batirov said the new airline would initially operate one weekly flight. He said the airline would also cater to cargo services as about 80 tonnes of cargo were airlifted from the UAE to Kyrgyzstan every week. He said the airline hoped to carry tourists from the UAE to Osh.

Press reports said Batirov was in Sharjah to sign an agreement with Pluto Airlines chairman Shaikh Fahem Mohammed Khalid Al Qasimi. Air Connection Travel, also owned by Shaikh Fahem, has been appointed as general sales agents for Botir Air.

Sharjah Air Connection Travel general manager Mohammed Ramo and Botir Air regional manager Mohammed Fatih were also present at the ceremony.

Shaikh Fahem said Pluto Airline would enter into joint venture projects with Botir Air to launch flights on new sectors.
