A successful year as unique card celebrates first anniversary

Dubai Duty Free and American Express recently celebrated the first anniversary of their co-branded credit card launched in December 2001. The joint credit card was the first of its kind to be introduced anywhere in the world and offers residents of the UAE a variety of exclusive benefits and privileges.

At a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony held in the shopping complex at Sheikh Rashid Terminal, Colm McLoughlin, managing director of Dubai Duty Free said, "The co-branded card has achieved its annual card membership target for the first year, which is commendable. Also in that time, the range of benefits has been extended to provide card members with even greater added value".

Rasool Hujair, regional director Gulf Countries, American Express Middle East and North Africa added, "Today is very special for us because it commemorates the Dubai Duty Free American Express Credit Card's first anniversary, and it also marks the end of a successful business year."

The Dubai Duty Free American Express Credit Card is dhiram denominated and offers card members a series of exclusive benefits and privileges, as well as a competitive annual membership fee. The Dubai Duty Free American Express Card offers members an interest rate of 1.95 per cent, and a membership fee of Dh75. Card members can enjoy a 10 per cent discount on over 15,000 items .
