Film buffs are in for a treat during DSF 2003, when they have an opportunity to view some of their favourite movies during the 32 days of the Festival.
'Bollywood 2 Hollywood' which runs from January 16 to February 15 promises to bring a bonanza of blockbusters with an excellent mix of good quality English, Arabic and Hindi movies, covering several genres and all decades.
Conveniently located in the open ground opposite the Saudi Consulate - next to the Bur Dubai Creek, the theatre is being set up to host 2,000 people each for the two shows.
Ibrahim Abdul Rahim, Events and Projects director, Dubai Shopping Festival said, "Open air cinemas have a very special charm as it provides a relaxed social occasion to interact with friends and families and the magic of the movies touches one and all. Introducing this new concept to the DSF entertainment calendar will give our visitors another option for a wonderful family outing together. "
Two hit films will be screened every day. Hindi movies will be screened daily, but Arabic and English movies will be screened every second day.
The first show, which will screen a Hindi film, will start at 6.30pm followed by an English or Arabic film very alternate day at 10.30pm.
Tickets for the show are priced at Dh10 and will be available at select outlets. The tickets will also be available at the venue from the day of the show. The titles being shown will include popular hits like Gladiator, Sholay, Ocean's Eleven, and Amir Al Ohalam.
