A 374-room Ritz-Carlton resort will open in Doha, Qatar, later this year further enhancing the international hotel group's presence in the Middle East.
'This hotel will complement our growing presence in the Middle East,' said Simon Cooper, president and chief operating officer, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, LLC.
The hotel will be owned by the Qatar National Hotels Company.
'The resort will be ideal for both business and leisure travellers with its unmatched location, spa, recreation, and food and beverage facilities,' said Cooper.
Just 10 minutes from downtown Doha and 20 minutes from Doha International airport, the hotel occupies a prime location in the prestigious West Bay Lagoon area. The hotel's 374 rooms, including 61 suites, will offer views of the Arabian Gulf or downtown Doha.
The Doha Golf Club, home to the Qatar Masters Golf Tournament, is located less than a five-minute drive from the hotel's front door. The club features two courses including the 18-hole championship course and the 9-hole academy course, which is floodlit for evening play.
A marina is located near the hotel and will be managed by The Ritz-Carlton, Doha, a first for the company.
Dining facilities include La Mer offering innovative French cuisine on top of the 22-story building, The Lagoon, for all day dining, Porcini serving classical Italian cuisine, Flamingos where spa cuisine will be the specialty, Habanos cigar divan, Breezes for beachside tropical beverages and The Lobby Lounge where traditional afternoon tea is served.
The Ritz-Carlton Club will be available for guests wishing to experience additional amenities and services.
Accessible via a specially coded elevator key, guests on two floors of Club have access to five complimentary food and beverage presentations daily and may use the services of a dedicated concierge.
Meetings and large events can be held in over 2,000 square metres of meeting and banquet facilities, including a 1,154 sq m and seven individual meeting rooms.
The business centre will be located near the meeting space offering a wide range of office services.
