Mohamed Syam has been promoted to director of finance at the Savoy Sharm El Sheikh Resort in Egypt.
Syam, 32, holds a master's degree in business administration from Trinity University in USA and was on the resort's opening team. He has more than 13 years of experience in various hotel chains such as Sonesta and Movenpick. Meanwhile, Amr Wafay has been named as the new assistant director of sales at the resort. Wafay brings with him more than 11 years of experience in sales and marketing in the hospitality industry. He started his career in 1991 at the Cairo Sheraton and in 1999 he moved to Sheraton Soma Bay where he held several positions, with last being senior sales manager.
