The Savoy resort ... an attractive combination of varied styles.

The Savoy Sharm El Sheikh Resort has opened a new spa and wellness centre and a cave bar and plans to open a discotheque this month.

The new spa and wellness centre is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, further boosting Savoy's image as an ultimate resort, said marketing communications manager Gehan Moustafa.

Moustafa said the resort which targets the European markets such as Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Russia and Spain, was also keen to prepare special packages offering tailor-made activities for the Arabs.

While calling for more creative ideas to market Egypt as a destination worldwide, she praised the recent move by the government to allow direct flights to Sharm El Sheikh which would further encourage travellers to visit the country.

The Savoy Sharm El Sheikh is located on the renowned White Knight Beach, a preserved area of Ras Mohamed National Park, and a paradise for diving and snorkeling.

The resort, only a 10-minute drive from the Sharm El Sheikh Airport and Naama Bay, is set in a magnificent location amidst reefs, sand and natural shades of green and blue, bordered by sunshine, palm trees and aromas of exotic flowers, said Moustafa.

It combines a variety of architectural styles, ranging from Mediterranean and Far Eastern to Arabesque as well as colonial African style. The outdoor areas of the resort are landscaped with tropical trees, waterfalls and rock formations.

Accommodation includes 408 well-appointed rooms and suites in addition to 15 villas overlooking Tiran Island, which rises majestically from the Red Sea.

Each room features individually controlled central air conditioning, satellite TV, pay movies, in-room safe boxes, mini bar, hairdryer and IDD telephones.

"Our chefs have gone from east to west to bring you the most delicious delights from around the world: whether you wish to savour country Italian dishes at Rosmarino or indulge in our catch of the day right from the sea at Morgana, or a barbeque at the beach," said Moustafa.

The resort offers three fully equipped meeting rooms accommodating up to 350 guests.

The Savoy is a natural retreat for sports enthusiasts with first-rate indoor and outdoor facilities.

The resort also offers access to a unique diving site - just offshore; a diving centre, a water sports centre, tennis, beach volleyball, a fitness centre and an 18 hole golf course nearby.
