Work has begun on $20 million renovation at the Sheraton Doha Hotel & Resort.
The project, which coincides with the hotel's 20th anniversary, should be completed by October 31, well in the time for the GCC summit which the hotel is hosting in December. It entails refurbishing three floors of bedroom suites, building a new restaurant complex and entertainment centre on the ground floor, building a new kitchen, and replacing equipment such as boilers and chillers. The main entrance and foyer area are being redesigned to take best advantage of the sea and city views and the Salwa Ballroom is being refurbished.
