The World Heritage Town of Pafos in Cyprus has a new attraction - golf.

The historic town is developing into a major golfing resort with two golf courses in operation and two more on the way.

Cyprus' charming combination of sea, sun and green is not only a perfect lure for golfers, it also attracts other European travellers who now flock back to the country year after year.

The TSADA Golf Club is picture perfect set in the gentle valley around a 12th century monastery in Pafos. Designed by Donald Steel, the 72-par, 6,060 metres course is a challenge to golfers.

Perched at 550 metres above the sea level on the outskirts of the town, the club is a cool haven during the summer. Its facilities include a bar, restaurant, tennis courts, swimming pool.

For the beginner, there is also a golf academy with a driving range, putting green and video coaching.

Set amid the grand trees and natural rock formations of the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, is the par 71, 5,904 metre Secret Valley golf course.

The club, 18km from Pafos and 49km from Limassol, has a pro-shop offering golfing accessories and an academy with a driving range.
