Luxury eco resort comes to Phuket next year

Work is progressing fast on The Crest Wellness Resort & Pool Villas Phuket, a Luxury Collection by Andakira Hotels and Resorts. The 153-key luxury eco resort will be ready for a soft opening early next year in Thailand’s popular Patong Peninsula.

Developed by Thailand-based Andakira Group, it is an hour’s drive from Phuket International Airport, and built at 75 metres above sea level, the resort affords views of five of the most magical beaches on the western side of Phuket. A swimming beach is a quick two-minute walk from the resort and nearby Tri Trang and Tri Tra beaches offer snorkelling opportunities aplenty.

Located adjacent to a tropical nature reserve, the property oozes tranquillity and seclusion.

With a six-star Rosewood Phuket to Open 2016 project also on its way, the location and timing of Andarika’s project is perfect to introduce a first-rate small upper upscale luxury hotel.


MIDDLE EAST INTEREST

With Thailand being a very important outbound destination for GCC countries, TTN spoke to corporate group general manager Azuan Noordin, Andakira Hospitality Management, for more on the five-star luxury resort. Seasoned Swiss hotelier Beat Wisemann has been hired as the general manager for the property from Kempinski Hotel Amman in Jordan.

'The Middle East is one of our target markets, not only because the large population of expatriates there, but also the high-end local and regional travellers, who have grown quite a lot in Thailand nowadays, especially in Phuket.'

The hotel aims to position itself to cater to niche honeymooners, individual leisure travellers, family and groups, as well as the corporate sector, he explains.

ROOM CONFIGURATIONS

Between a total of 119 room suites in the main complex and an additional 34 pool villas, there will be 12 categories of classy and functional suites room types, from romantic deluxe hideaways to family pool villas. Personal butlers will be provided including and in-room dining service.

For a totally indulgent and intimate stay, the Abyss One-Bedroom Pool Villas with a water theme and the Azure One-Bedroom Pool Villas sky-themed villas are designed to incorporate the natural surrounding environment into your everyday living with unobstructed views of Tri Trang and Tri Tra beaches.

Fauna Two-Bedroom Studio Executive Pool Villas, Silica Two-Bedroom Family Pool Villas, Nebula Three-Bedrooms Pool Villas and Galaxy Royal Palace Five-Bedrooms Pool Villas will suit the family or group who are looking for total privacy with the family and friends. Incorporating all of the facilities available in the rooms mentioned above, these villas also give totally private indoor and outdoor areas and sundecks with a personal pool to provide the perfectly secluded spaces.

These rooms feature a bath tub by the king-sized bed, an elegant living room, a 50-60 inch LCD plasma, books and magazines to suit individual tastes, chess and backgammon tables, complimentary use of wi-fi complete with a notebook and a resident personal butler. Private dining can be arranged and guests can even design their own cellar selection. A buggy cart service is available and check-in is privately conducted in the welcoming space of the villas.


OUTLETS AND FACILITIES

The resort property will feature a rooftop sky lounge, an exotic rooftop garden cafe, two ocean-view restaurants, a bistro and pub, cigar room, meeting facilities, a complete fitness centre, a spa, an infinity swimming pool with 200-degree ocean views, rooftop decks with artificial grass and sand, and a gift shop. Mountain bikes will be available for hire, guided nature walks and jungle trekking will also be available.

The kids will have their own club, equipped with giant chess, games room and nine-hole miniature golf.

Anda Spa and Holistic Wellness Village will have four treatment rooms and a further five double room spa suites with individual Jacuzzi spa and private bathroom. There will also be a four-bed massage room available. A meditation zone will be available complete with a guru for yoga and meditation.


DINING OPTIONS

Creating their own organic fruit, vegetable and herb gardens, and with a wine list boasting more than 300 local and international labels, The Crest Wellness Resort & Pool Villas Phuket will make its mark on the dining scene of Phuket.

Dining experiences on offer include private, candle-lit romantic dinners for two, day-time snacking by the pool, a main restaurant combining bar and lounge areas with a private VIP section, a decadent rooftop fusion seafood and grill open kitchen, cigar and wine cellar.

Rosewood Phuket

Rosewood Phuket is opening in 2016 with 71 villas and 32 residences. It will be located on the 600-metre Emerald Bay beachfront in Western Phuket.

All private and public areas at the property will blend interiors and exteriors with retractable glass walls. The resort will be designed to integrate organically into the hillside forest surroundings with an environmentally sensitive, contemporary architectural style showcasing the location’s striking natural attributes.

To preserve the 40-acre forest, including 150-year-old banyan trees considered sacred in Thai culture, Bangkok-based P-Landscape will retain or carefully transplant trees within the site. Any introduced foliage will be indigenous species.

Strategic positioning of the one and two-bedroom beach, lagoon and pool villas will provide privacy and uninterrupted ocean views. At a minimum total area of 110 square metres, villas will include separate lounge and dining spaces, swimming pool, garden, deck and outdoor shower and bath. The 32 two-to-nine-bedroom tropical mansion residences are set on sites that average half an acre.
