Greg Webb named vice chairman
Sabre Corporation has named Greg Webb (pictured here) to the new role of Sabre vice chairman, responsible for customer engagement and global development initiatives. Sabre also announced that Sean Menke will take over from Webb as executive vice-president of Sabre and president of Sabre Travel Network.
Herr joins as AGM for Beirut hotels
Robert P. Herr has been appointed to the post of area general manager for the Phoenicia and Le Vendome InterContinental hotels in Beirut, Lebanon. He holds a degree in hospitality management from the Ecole Hotelière de Lausanne, Switzerland as well as an MBA from Henley University, Oxfordshire, UK.
Al Faisaliah hires new hotel manager
Al Faisaliah, the Saudi capital’s premium five-star hotel, has appointed Francesco Pantalone as its new hotel manager, drawing on his vast experience in the hospitality industry of 15 years across four continents. During his long career in Asia, Pantalone also held senior leadership roles with international luxury hotel chains.

Jordanian national Hussein Tayseer Al Kurdi (pictured here) has been appointed resident manager at Anantara Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa in Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile, Cristian Osorio is now quality and continuous improvement manager, and Sultan Baddar director of human resources at Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa.
Aiana strengthens Mideast presence
In line with its commitment to strengthen presence across key markets in the Middle East region, Aiana Hotels & Resorts, a global hotel management company has announced the appointment of Murlidhar Rao as senior vice president, operations. Rao will be based at Aiana’s regional headquarters in Doha, Qatar.

Botta joins Warwick Doha as GM
Warwick Doha Hotel has appointed Italian national Ilario Botta as the new general manager of the Qatar property. He has 28 years of experience in Arabic-speaking and European countries. Prior to his appointment he has the general manager for Holiday Inn Corniche Al Khobar in Saudi Arabia.
Dana joins as director of revenue
The Grand Millennium Dubai has appointed Hassan Dana as director of revenue to ensure a continued focus on revenue management and hotel profitability. Dana will be monitoring demand trends, booking pace and market trends. Prior to his role, he was director of sales operations with Hospitality Marketing Concepts, Dubai.
Mövenpick Bahrain hires Shaikh
Mövenpick Hotel Bahrain has appointed Rameez Shaikh as the new director of sales. With numerous accomplishments in his 15-year-old career, Shaikh is the perfect man to help build the hotel’s revenue. He has had previous roles at two prominent Mövenpick hotels in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Rocco Forte builds executive team
Rocco Forte Hotels, a family of 10 individual hotels and resorts in key European destinations, has appointed Naveed Mohammed to the role of assistant director of global sales in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. An Indian national, he is a graduate of Osmania University and has has just completed an MBA.
