Diplomat venue reopens

THE Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa, one of the leading five-star hotels in The Kingdom of Bahrain, announced the reopening of its newly renovated conference and meeting facilities after an extensive renovation.

The next phase of development will be a renovation programme for the hotel’s 246 bedrooms, scheduled to commence in 2015. The hotel is currently finalising details of the bedroom renovation.

The new meeting venues offer intelligently planned, tailored solutions with flawless execution for every event on Bahrain’s calendar. CEO of National Hotels Company, Abdulrahman Morshed, hopes that the BD2.2 million ($5.8 million) facilities refurbishment will propel the Diplomat Radisson Blu into one of the best-recognised brands in the market.

A HISTORY OF CHANGE

After a full renovation of the hotel rooms in 2003 and 2004, the company embarked on the construction of the Diplomat Residence in 2006. This was followed by the refurbishment of the hotel exterior and façade in 2008. In 2009, construction of the BD27 million ($71.5 million), 28-floor, Diplomat office tower began, which was then completed in 2012. Simultaneously, renovation of the Al Fanar skylight lounge started in 2011, when it was converted into Bahrain’s only rooftop ballroom on the14th-floor. The room features fabulous views of the city’s skyline.

With capacities to host conferences and events for up to 1,300 delegates, the venue offers possibilities to for different room configurations tailored to each client’s requirement.”

All aspects of the function space, from boardrooms to ballrooms, have received a complete redesign and can easily adapt to corporate or social functions. The meetings and events facilities located on the ground floor of the hotel are easy to access and offer a warm welcome to guests.

The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Residence and Spa provides the latest in technology and catering as well as ‘Experience Meetings’, a core event component unique to Radisson Blu Hotels worldwide, and to Bahrain. The Pillars of the Experience meeting programme include ‘Brain Food’, a culinary service offering menus developed to stimulate the mind, and ‘Brain Box’, a special breakout room that provides hands-on activities in an environment that encourages creative thinking and concentration. All Experience meeting delegates are provided with complimentary internet wi-fi access. 

The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel offers 3,171 square metres of meeting and event space, including the Grand Ambassador Ballroom. Moreover, the facilities also host an elegant and exclusive Majlis. There are six additional meeting rooms, a fully equipped business centre and a VIP boardroom. All meeting and conference spaces offer a luxurious, contemporary design and state-of-the-art audio visual technology.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

Radisson Blu Hotels and Resorts encourages guests to leave a smaller carbon footprint with the brand’s long-standing Responsible Business programme. Starting 2012, the hospitality group is committed to reduce energy consumption by 25 per cent in five years.
