LOCATED in the backdrop of the Hajjar Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah has just completed its 218-room renovation and modernisation programme. The renovation, which began last year, incorporates new, high-quality room designs from Emirati designer Amani Al Lauz.
The key features of the new rooms include Bluetooth connectivity to the flat-screen TV, wireless high speed internet access, and artwork depicting East Coast landscapes, adorned on the walls. The rooms now have the new signature Le Méridien Bed, an extra sofa bed and Bose music systems (in the Royal Club rooms).
Taking her inspiration from the natural beauty of Fujairah, Amani Al Lauz has worked closely with the Starwood design team to create guestrooms that are both functional and tasteful. “Fujairah is renowned for its rich, diverse and unspoiled natural beauty which includes waterfalls, oases and long beaches. This is reflected in the carpet design, the art on the walls and even the soft fabric used in the upholstery all combined to give the room a relaxing look and feel,” she explains.
Le Méridien Al Aqah stays committed to offering guests a warm and refreshing holiday experience that keeps them returning for more. “As market leaders, our commitment to quality remains steadfast. The rooms reflect the vivid imagination of our experienced interior designer with a little help from Starwood’s global design office who ensured that they met its high global brand standards,” said Patrick Antaki, complex general manager, Le Méridien Al Aqah beach resort and Al Maha, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort and Spa. “We look forward to welcoming old guests and new to the resort soon,” he added.
Le Méridien Al Aqah features nine delightful restaurants and bars, a spa and a professional dive centre plus a variety of leisure facilities including a beach volleyball court and a mini-golf course. Le Méridien Al Aqah offers a suite of conference facilities equipped with state-of-the-art technology and a full range of services for all business and meeting needs to the business traveller as well.
