Travel agents and residents of Bahrain can now make instant bookings at more than 3,200 Six Continents hotels worldwide with a free phone call.
Six Continents, which is the biggest hotel operator in the Middle East with 62 properties, launched its new toll-free link from Bahrain at a reception at the Regency Inter-Continental Hotel attended by the group's area director of marketing Magdi Samman.
The launch of the toll-free number - 800880 - follows the inauguration of the group's central reservations office in Dubai last month.
The link will allow residents and travel agents in Bahrain to make "real time" bookings at any Inter-Continental, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotels and resorts worldwide.
"The opening of the reservations office is great news for Bahrain," said Regency Inter-Continental general manager Mark McCarthy.
The central reservations office will also inform callers about any special promotions available at hotels at their chosen destinations.
"The new central reservations office is regarded by many of us as a milestone achievement," said Holiday Inn Bahrain general manager Oussamma Massoud.
"Our commitment to this facility, and the growth of additional reservation facilities across the Middle East and Africa, reflects the value of this region's trade volumes regionally and internationally."
Besides Bahrain, toll-free links are now available from UAE (8004642); Saudi Arabia (800 8 971465); Qatar (0800 971234) and Kuwait (4732100, ext 6233).
Six Continents says it plans to expand this toll-free network in the region.
