Gebhard joins as GM

Kerzner International Holdings Limited has appointed Guenter Gebhard as general manager for One&Only Hayman Island, the collection’s first resort in Australia, ahead of its reopening in April 2014. His role will include strengthening the brand in the region. He boasts more than 20 years in the hospitality sector.

Antoun Kobercy has been promoted to director of rooms at Golden Tulip Seeb Hotel in Oman. Kobercy joined the company eight years ago and previously held the position of revenue and front office manager. Gerhard Hecker has been appointed general manager of Shangri-La Hotel and Residences, Dubai. Hecker joined Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts seven years ago during the pre-opening of Futian Shangri-La, Shenzhen, China. He moved to Dubai from Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, where he also held the position of general manager.

HMH – Hospitality Management has announced the appointment of Laurent A. Voivenel as its chief executive officer. Media One Hotel has appointed Ahmed Faraz as night manager. He began his career in Sheraton Heathrow Hotel in London as a night auditor, responsible in daily night audit and reporting operations and was later promoted to night manager. The Chedi Muscat has appointed Abel Vieilleville as executive pastry chef. Four Seasons roles for Sayess

Rami Sayess has taken over as regional vice president for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Doha. Prior to his he held the same role at Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok, Thailand. Sayess will oversee Four Seasons hotels in five markets, namely Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Azerbaijan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Dek appoints Mannin

Media One Hotel has appointed Stephen Mannin as manager of The Dek. He previously worked as a food and beverage manager at Nikki Beach & The Beach House Hotel where he set up and opened five venues. Prior to this, he was operations manager at Nasimi Beach, Atlantis The Palm.

Chef Ananiadis returns to Lebanon

Sotiris Ananiadis returns to Four Seasons Hotel Beirut as executive chef having spent two years working with the Hotel from 2010 as executive sous chef, before moving to Japan as head chef at Marunouchi at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo. He has 16 years of international experience having worked in Greece, the Maldives, Bahrain, France and Japan.

 

 

 

 

 

Scaria joins as new chief engineer

Jumeira Rotana Dubai has appointed Saji Scaria as its new chief engineer. Scaria brings 16 years of hospitality experience. He has risen up the ladder from supervisor to senior supervisor to senior engineer, becoming the assistant engineer in 2011 prior to his new position.
