New position for Redaelli

Kempinski Hotel & Residences Palm Jumeirah has welcomed Alessandro Redaelli as the hotel’s new general manager. Redaelli will oversee the day-to-day operations at the all-suite resort as well as the second phase of the hotel’s expansion. With construction for the project restarting in the coming weeks, the resort is set to open in the second half of 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

Aouini is hotel manager

Emirates Grand Hotel has appointed Tarek Aouini as its hotel manager. Aouini brings 13 years of hospitality experience. He is responsible for the overall strategic planning, setting and achieving sales targets, and keeping up to date with the latest promotions and hotel pricing as well as overseeing all hotel departments and directing the hotel operations.

 

 

 

 

 

Luxperience promotes Andrews

Lindy Andrews has been promoted to CEO of Luxperience from director of Sales and Partner Alliances. Andrews will help in driving the company’s aim in growing by at least 50 per cent in 2014. Before joining Luxperience in April this year, Andrews helped generate record revenues at Novotel Manly in Sydney and the Panthers Group of venues.

 

 

 

 

 

Upward becomes executive chef

Adrian Upward has been appointed as executive chef at InterContinental Regency Bahrain. He brings 31 years of experience and his most recent position was executive chef at Moevenpick Tower & Suites, Doha, Qatar. Prior to this, he served as executive chef at Marriott Hotel & Spa Yalong Bay, Sanya, Hainan, China.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Novotel appoints Noury

Laurent Noury has been appointed as general manager of Novotel Al Dana Resort in Bahrain. His career in Accor started in 1983. He was previously general manager of the Pullman Dubai Deira City Centre. Laurent has an extensive experience in operations from Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deniz promoted to assistant director

Hüseyin Deniz has been promoted to the role of assistant director of Sales and Marketing at the Papillon Hotels & Resorts. Prior to his new appointment he held the position of sales and marketing manager for MICE and the Middle East markets for six years. In his current role he will be responsible for global markets.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GM appointed at Sofitel Al Khobar

Sofitel Al Khobar The Corniche have announced the appointment of Fares Yactine as general manager. He brings 13 years of hospitality experience in the Middle East to his new role. Yactine joins the team at Sofitel Al Khobar The Corniche from Sofitel Thalassa Sea and Spa in Bahrain. Prior to joining Sofitel, Yactine worked has worked in Spain, Lebanon and Bahrain. 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for El Mansoury

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Sherif El Mansoury as the new director of Sales and Marketing for its Jeddah property Rosewood Corniche. He joins from Rosewood Corniche from Mosaic Palais Aziza & Spa Hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco where he was the director of Sales & Marketing. He boasts 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry.

 

 

 

 

 

Fernandez joins as F&B manager

Kempinski Hotel Mall of The Emirates has appointed Barbara Fernandez as food and beverage manager. Fernandez has served as executive assistant manager Food and Beverage at the Hotel Las Amèricas Resort in Columbia previously.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New appointments at JA Resorts

JA Resorts & Hotels has appointed two experienced international hoteliers to the top roles at its Dubai Marina-situated properties, the JA Oasis Beach Tower and JA Ocean View Hotel. Torsten Obermann has been promoted to general manager at the JA Oasis Beach Tower, while Otto Kurzendorfer (right) will be general manager at JA Ocean View Hotel.

 

 

 

 

 

Kasman joins Mövenpick

Julisah Kasman joins Mövenpick Hotel Deira as food and beverage manager. Kasman brings with her over 20 years of experience. Prior to her appointment with Mövenpick Hotel Deira, Kasman worked as the director of Operations for Lemongrass International.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lhannaoui becomes executive chef

Abderrahim Lhannaoui has joined the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai as its new executive chef. He has 16 years of experience and a sound knowledge in cuisines from all around the world including Continental, Mediterranean, Arabic, Italian and Asian.  Prior to this he was executive sous chef at Kempinski Hotel & Residence Palm Jumeirah.

 

 

 

 

 

Gupta joins Holiday Inn

Holiday Inn Dubai – Al Barsha has appointed Preeti Gupta as the executive housekeeper. She is a seasoned housekeeper with extensive hospitality experience spanning 23 years across India and Gupta worked with The Leela Palace Kempinski Hotel, prior to her new appointment.

 

 

 

 

 

Dusit announces new appointment

Dusit International has appointed Sameh Shawkat to the position of regional director of sales and marketing – Middle East and Africa, based in the Dubai MEA regional office. Samah Akl has joined Nasir Bin Abdullah & Sons Group (NBA) as PR and marketing manager. Kazmer  joins Four Seasons

Four Seasons Hotel Amman has announced the appointment of Chuck Kazmer as the new executive chef. Chuck has had a long-standing journey with Four Seasons hotels that began in 1991 as an apprentice in Austin, Texas.

Luxury brand Corinthia Hotels has appointed Roderick Micallef as vice president of operations for its hotels in Malta and mainland Europe. In his new role, Roderick will drive strategies to maximise profitability and quality in the hotels’ Craftsmanship of Care guest services offering. Frederic Chretien has been appointed as general manager of Outrigger Mauritius Resort and Spa, scheduled to open in December 2013. Chretien comes with 30 years’ experience in hotels. Before joining Outrigger, Chretien held positions at The Residence, Mauritius, InterContinental Hotel Group, France and Sun International in the Comoros Islands in the Indian Ocean.
