Royal Tulip names Hisham

Ahmed Hisham has been appointed as director of Sales & Marketing of Royal Tulip Alexandria Hotel. Ahmed brings with him over 18 years of experience in the field, in both the international and local tourism market. He has worked with several leading names in the hotel industry including IHG, Conrad Hilton, Starwood, Marriott and Jaz Hotels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New appointments at Emirates

Nabil Sultan (right) has been appointed divisional senior vice president (DSVP) of Emirates SkyCargo. He previously served as DSVP for Revenue Optimisation and Distribution. Richard Jewsbury assumes the role of DSVP Revenue Optimisation and Distribution after serving as senior vice president (SVP) Commercial, Europe & Russian Federation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chahwan joins Golden Tulip

Antonella Chahwan has joined Golden Tulip Hotels as an e-commerce manager of Mena (Middle East and North Africa). She will be working closely with the sales and marketing departments of the Golden Tulip hotels in the Mena region to enhance their online exposure.  She holds an MBA in hospitality management and luxury brands.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New GM for Capital Club

Emma Cullen, who has more than 20 years of experience, is now responsible for the identification and implementation of best practices and the expansion of Capital Club Dubai’s many state-of-the-art functions and services. In her role Emma will actively improve membership communications, drive sales and add value through excellence in service.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Köhn appointed as GM

Rotana Hotel Management Corporation has appointed Stephan Köhn as general manager for the soon-to-open Hili Rayhaan Rotana Hotel, Al Ain. He brings 30 years of experience gained in Germany, England, USA and the last 13 years in the Middle East.  Having been with Rotana since 2008 he is prepared to open the 254-room hotel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jones to head sales at Marriot MEA

Marriott International has announced the appointment of Neil Jones as its new chief sales and marketing officer for the Middle East and Africa. He brings 13 years of experience within Marriott International. Prior to the new role he was the vice president within the Global Sales Organisation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kempinski appoints Fawzi

Kempinski has appointed Nasser Fawzi as the area director of sales for the Arabian Gulf (UAE, Qatar and Bahrain). He has been with Kempinski since 2001 and worked in senior roles in the UAE, Turkey and Egypt. He most recently was director of sales and marketing at Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, where he will now be based.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dusit Thani Maldives’ gets DOSM

Dusit International has appointed Thanos Lionsatos as the sales and marketing director (DOSM) of its  Dusit Thani Maldives. He previously directed efforts for the opening of Oakwood Residence Hangzhou, China, and was the cluster director of sales and marketing for Oakwood properties in Japan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rock joins BA

British Airways has appointed Mike Rock as the new sales manager for Central Asia and the Levant. Rock will manage sales teams across Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon and Jordan. Rock joined British Airways in 2007 through the airline’s graduate development scheme.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for Erfan

Mövenpick Hotel and Residences Hajar Tower Makkah has appointed Adel Erfan as general manager for its 1,200-room property. Adel has over 32 years of experience within the hospitality industry in the GCC. He has previously held roles at the Le Meridien Hotels as well as Mövenpick Hotel Qassim and Mövenpick Hotel Jeddah.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Executive chef role for Salloum

The Golden Tulip Resort Dana Bay has appointed Ali Salloum as its new executive chef. Salloum worked in the Officers Club kitchen and Le Tourant Hotel in Lebanon as commis chef before moving to Dubai where he worked for Jumeirah Emirates Towers. He also worked in Saudi Arabia and in Six Senses.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anantara Dubai announces GM

Jean-Francois Laurent, who has more than 30 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, has been appointed general manager of Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa, which will open this month. He has been brought in to lead the team of 500 associates and oversee the launch of the Thai Hospitality group’s first property in Dubai.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tombeur joins Sofitel Abu Dhabi

Sofitel Abu Dhabi Corniche has named Olivier Tombeur as director of sales and marketing.  Olivier, who has been with the Sofitel group for six years, joins the Abu Dhabi team from his previous position as director of sales for Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach. He previously held has sales positions in Monte Carlo, Cannes, Nice and Brussels.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stockenstrom for Radisson

Carl Stockenstrom has been appointed as the executive chef for Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai. Prior to joining Radisson Royal Hotel Dubai, Carl has worked in several hotel groups such as The Ritz-Carlton and The Address Hotels+Resorts as an executive chef and director of food and beverage.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Textor joins Anantara Dubai

Joachim Textor has been announced as the executive chef of the Anantara Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa, scheduled to open this month. Textor, who brings to his role more than 30 years’ experience gained from across the globe, will manage a team of 95 kitchen staff across the resort’s six outlets.

Royal Rose Hotel has announced the appointments of Nickolas Chatzipetros (right) as deputy general manager and Thanos Tsinias as front office manager.  With vast experiences in hotel pre-openings and Food & Beverage operations, Chatzipetros has worked in various properties in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

Elie Sassine has been appointed director of sales and marketing for Sharq Village and Spa, Doha, managed by The Ritz-Carlton, Hotel Company B.V. He comes with 14 years of experience with international hotel companies. His most recent role was assistant director of Sales & Marketing.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for Abudyak

Qasem Abudyak is the new director of Engineering at the Golden Tulip Resort Danabay Half-Moon. He joined the Golden Tulip Hospitality Group in 2004 as engineering manager at Janna Resort & Spa in Jordan and was promoted to regional director of Engineering for MENA Region in 2007. He will continue his regional duties besides his new role.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Loveday is general manager

Monte-Carlo Beach Club, Saadiyat has appointed Bill Loveday as general manager. With more than 25 years’ experience in premium hospitality management, Bill most recently ran The Capital Clubs in Dubai and Bahrain as well as clubs across the US, including the prestigious Houston Club.
