Khader Qasem has been appointed as general manager for the new Royal Tulip Alexandria. He comes with 12 years of experience, nine of which has been with Golden Tulip. Ahmed Hisham joined the hotel as director of Sales & Marketing. He has 18 years of experience having worked for leading hospitality players.

The Sheraton Dubai Mall of the Emirates Hotel has welcomed its new general manager John Paul (JP) Kavanagh, previously general manager for The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa in Edinburgh, Scotland. He brings with him 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry across the UK and Ireland.

 

 

 

 

 

Nehal appoints new Al Kabalan

Samer Al Kabalan brings more than 17 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to his new position he served as hotel manager of Oasis Court Hotel Apartment in Dubai and formerly with Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman as Rooms division manager and part of the hotel’s preopening team.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for Sharma

Mövenpick Beach Resort Alkhobar team welcomed Prashant Sharma as new resort manager.

He brings 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Prior to joining to Mövenpick Beach Resort Alkhobar he held the position of director of Sales Marketing at Mövenpick Qassim of Saudi Arabia.

 

 

 

 

 

New appointment at Oman Air

Oman Air has appointed Gheitha Suleiman Salim Al Hosny as airport service manager to its team at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. She began her career with Oman Air in 1994 as a lounge receptionist, rising to acting duty manager at the Muscat International Airport.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for Suleman

Four Seasons Hotel Doha has promoted Shadi Suleman to the position of hotel manager from director of rooms, a position he has held at the leading Doha hotel since 2010. Suleman joined the company in 2002 as night manager at Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Centre in Saudi Arabia.

Mark Deere has been appointed by Rotana Hotels as general manager of Yas Island Rotana & Centro Yas Island. He has 26 years of industry experience and held the position of general manager of Arjaan by Rotana in Dubai prior to his new role.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heijden joins Le Royal Méridien

Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi has appointed Daniel van der Heijden as deputy general manager. His most recent assignment was the conversion and branding of Sheraton Hotel, MOE further to Starwood Hotel’s take over, while holding the position of executive assistant manager at Le Meridien Amman, Jordan.

Arun Kumar has been appointed residence manager for Al Bustan Center and Residence, Dubai. Prior to this he was the general manager of Safeer Group of Hotels in Muscat, Oman. He has 22 years of experience in the hospitality sector in Middle East and India.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mövenpick welcomes Dudley

Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate has appointed Marcus Dudley as the executive assistant manager. Prior to this he was the director of Food & Beverage at the Mövenpick Jumeirah Beach Hotel. He was also honoured as the ‘F&B Manager of the Year Middle East’ at the Hotelier awards in 2012.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Etihad appoints new GM for Yemen

Etihad Airways has appointed Yahya Ahmed Hussein Al-Robaydi as the airline’s general manager in Yemen. He will be responsible for driving commercial results and developing strong relationships with the travel trade and the corporate customer segment in the country.

Raffles announces three GMs

Richard Schestak moves from Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh, to oversee the opening of Raffles Jakarta. Pieter van der Hoeven joins Raffles in Phnom Penh from Outrigger Asia Pacific. Simon Hirst (right) has been appointed as general manager of Raffles Singapore.

Six Senses Zighy Bay has appointed Fatma Hilal Al Sinawi (right) as the new human resource director and Yahya Aqueel Mohammed Al Lawati as the human resource manager.
