Al Bustan Rotana welcomes Zaiane

Al Bustan Rotana Dubai has appointed Slim Zaiane as its new executive assistant manager. He has more than 15 years of experience for properties including Hilton London Metropole, Hilton Newcastle, Sofitel Geneva, and Red Carnations luxury boutique hotels collection. Prior to Al Bustan, he was the Food and Beverage operations manager at the Hilton Group.

 

 

 

 

 

Cove Rotana appoints Zakaria

The Cove Rotana Resort in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, has appointed Bassam Zakaria as the new director of Rooms. Bassam has 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Zakaria’s career and managerial position started with Rotana in 2006 growing up the ladder to being the director of Sales and Marketing in 2009.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Salinel joins Media One Hotel

Media One Hotel recently appointed Leon Salinel as director of sales and marketing. Leon boasts a career span of 24 years and has worked with leading names in the hospitality industry including Holiday Inn, Shangri-La’s Traders Hotel, Al Seef, Bahrain, The Ritz-Carlton Dubai, The Fairmont Dubai and Dusit Thani Dubai.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Al Ali to oversee RAKTDA

Mohamed A. Ruqait Al-Ali, general manager of HH Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, will temporarily oversee the operations of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, as COO Victor Louis announced his resignation. A new COO will be announced within the next quarter of 2013.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Key appointments at Rocco Forte

Rocco Forte Hotels announced the appointment of Philippe Spagnol as general manager of Hotel Amigo Brussels. Prior to this, Spagnol was the general manager at Orient-Express’ Hotel Monasterio in Cusco, Peru. Joining Spagnol at Hotel Amigo as director of sales and marketing is Silvia Brighenti.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New appointments at Rosewood

Rosewood Hotels & Resorts have appointed Alex Pichel as the new managing director of the Al Faisaliah Hotel and Hotel Al Khozama in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Pichel has held the position of General Manager of Al Faisaliah Hotel for the last two years. He has more than 25 years of hospitality experience.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for Malliaroudakis

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) has appointed Carlos Malliaroudakis as area general manager for InterContinental Kuwait and Holiday Inn Kuwait Down Town. Carlos brings with him 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry in different countries such as Greece, Lebanon, Jordan, Qatar and Kuwait.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Khaled at Holiday Inn Dead Sea

Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea has appointed Mohammad Khaled as its front office manager after working for seven years at the IHG sister hotel InterContinental Aqaba Resort. He has more than 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry in Saudi and Jordan.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New GM at Kempinski MOE

Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates has welcomed Konstantin Zeuke as the property’s new general manager. Konstantin has 15 years of experience with Kempinski across the world from Germany, Kuwait, UAE and Egypt to Bulgaria, Slovakia and Croatia. He has also held roles at Hilton and Marriott in Germany.

Kerzner International Holdings Limited has appointed two executives: Mark DeCocinis (right), joins as president and chief operating officer for One&Only Resorts and Stephan Killinger, joins as president of Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort. Etihad appoints new GM for Canada

Etihad Airways has appointed James Harrison as its new general manager for Canada. Harrison most-recently served as Etihad Airways’ Global Account Manager for American Express, based in London. He has previously worked for Hertz, British Airways and Gulf Air.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Shangri-La Tokyo welcomes chef

Stephane Puverel was appointed as executive chef of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo. Chef Puverel has over 20 years’ experience at a vast range of international destinations, from South Africa to Monaco and China. He joins Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts from his previous position as executive chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai.

 

 

 

 

 

 

New role for Lee Chee Koon

The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has appointed Lee Chee Koon as its chief executive officer (CEO). Prior to joining Ascott in 2009 as its managing director for China, he was vice president in the Office of the president at CapitaLand. Lee has also held appointments in at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ministry of Finance, and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dusit welcomes Alvaro

Dusit Thani Dubai further strengthens its executive committee with the appointment of Julia Alvaro as director of Sales and Marketing. Alvaro has nearly 20 years of international experience in the tourism and hospitality industry. Viceroy Group welcomes O’Shea

Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Jane O’Shea as regional director of sales and marketing. She will be located in central London and will be setting up a dedicated UK Regional Sales office for the group. O’Shea brings 20 years of progressive sales experience to the role.
