The hotel's facilities has made it an ideal wedding venue.

Qatar's newest hotel is this summer offering special rates for both leisure and business travellers.

The Inter-Continental Doha which opened just six months ago is also hoping to tap into the large market for leisure travel within Qatar, especially at the weekends, with its extensive range of facilities.

This summer, the hotel has created two rates which would be suitable for all segments of the market in anticipation of increasing business during the summer season.

'We found that, traditionally, summer rates were very restrictive and consequently could only be booked by a limited section of the market, for example, local citizens on a leisure visit and not corporates who effectively pay the same rates during the year,' said Director of Sales & Marketing, Waddah Abu Al Ghanam.

He said market feedback showed that clients preferred a choice of a special low tariff for leisure visits, as well as a discount off the usual business rates.

Consequently, the hotel has launched two rates, side-by-side, of $70 for leisure travel for Qatari residents and $90 for business, which are valid from June 1 to September 30.

'We believe that there is a large market within Qatar for leisure travel, especially at the weekends, which we should make the most of. We have the country's largest beach and pool area; great water sports facilities, including access to private diving grounds; wonderful modern rooms all with hi-tech features, which are unique in Qatar; and a peaceful location.' says Abu Al Ghanam.

Business travellers are well served as all Inter-Continental's 286 rooms are designed to hi-tech specifications and it is the only hotel to offer access to the Internet through the TV in every room.

Doha Inter-Continental offers some of the best leisure activities in Qatar including the biggest pool and beach.
