A new golf course which opens in Dubai later this year promises a combination of championship golf and luxury hospitality.
The Montgomerie, Dubai, has been developed as part of the exclusive Emirates Hills residential development by Emaar Properties.
It is managed by Troon Golf, a recognised world leader in luxury brand golf management, development and marketing, which manages 110 courses in 10 countries.
The Montgomerie opens officially on October 1 this year while the course is open for preview play from April 18 to September 30.
Designed by Colin Montgomerie in association with Desmond Muirhead, the 18-hole, par-72 championship course offers some unique characteristics including the world's single largest green in the shape of the UAE and a snake hole.
"The first thing you notice about The Montgomerie, Dubai is the scale of the course. Set in 200 acres, it features the sort of dramatic landscapes that are the hallmark of the great Scottish courses," said a spokesperson.
"It's only when you get down to detail that you discover the more quirky aspects that are guaranteed to challenge and entertain golfers of all levels. The surfaces are exquisite and the weather is about as good as you'll find anywhere in the world."
The Montgomerie also offers practice facilities including a par 3 academy course and driving range with turfed hitting area which will be fully floodlit by the end of this month.
"The skill-honing par 3 course reflects the landscape of the championship course and the driving range has a capacity of over 200 golfers at a time," said the spokesperson.
The 'Academy by Troon Golf' specialised clinics and packages will be available for golfers beginning this month. The Montgomerie also features the Academy Restaurant which offers dining alternatives from 6.30am through to late evening.
The Montgomerie offers an exclusive arrangement known simply as Citizenship. Available in limited numbers, Citizenship entitles guests to a host of privileges, both on and off the course, as well as preferential access to Troon Golf's extensive international network of upscale golfing facilities.
"This unique combination of championship golf and luxury hospitality, known around the world as the Troon Golf Experience, will establish The Montgomerie as the Middle East's premier luxury golf destination," said the spokesperson.
