ILTM expands its portfolio to new markets

FOLLOWING the success of the first ILTM Americas in Mexico earlier this month, International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) – organised by Reed Travel Exhibitions -has announced that it will be launching two similar events: ILTM Africa to be held in South Africa and ILTM Japan in Kyoto Japan.

ILTM Africa will take place from April 8- 9, 2013 at one of Cape Town’s landmark hotels, The Mount Nelson, and will be a unique event where all suppliers will represent luxury travel experiences from the African continent, meeting with hosted luxury travel buyers and agents from the most significant – as well as key emerging – global luxury travel markets.

This is a new format for ILTM: its other regional events (ILTM Asia and ILTM Americas) invite exhibitors from across the world to meet with invited buyers from the specific region. Alison Gilmore, Reed Travel Exhibitions, ILTM exhibition director commented: “The success of ILTM Americas proved just how hungry the luxury travel market is to continually seek new experiences. Africa holds some of the world’s greatest wilderness areas, richest cultures and most awe-inspiring wildlife – it is full of life from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the oceans.”

ILTM Japan will take place from March 11-13, 2013 in Kyoto, home to the second largest population of high-net worth individuals after the United States. In response to industry demand, ILTM Japan will be a niche event created to give international exhibitors the opportunity to meet with high end luxury travel agents, planners and tour operators to reach high-spending Japanese luxury travellers.

Each of the buyers and suppliers invited to attend ILTM Japan must be accredited for participation: approximately 50 of each at this specialist event, as pre-scheduled appointments will be arranged on a strictly one-to-one ratio.

“We have been increasingly aware of the demand from ILTM clients to focus on Japan as a key source market of high-spending discerning travellers. Whereas ILTM Asia has a seven year proven track record in providing access to a range of buyers from over 20 countries across the burgeoning and diverse Asia Pacific, ILTM Japan will venture further, providing a direct opportunity for a selection of the world’s elite travel products and experiences to reach the most discerning of Japanese luxury travel agents and specialists,” added Gilmore.
