Le Meridien Mina Seyahi ... incentive schemes.

Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina is offering companies a unique way to reward their top performers with a polo-packed holiday.

This concept, launched in conjunction with the Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, is the first of its kind in the emirate, the hotel said.

It is designed to appeal to all categories of players from beginners through to experienced riders.

"The incentive and leisure markets are important targets for Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts and particularly Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina here in Dubai," said Michael Scully, general manager of Le Meridien Mina Seyahi

"We have already succeeded in gaining great interest from the diving, deep sea-fishing and golfing markets and have most recently introduced the 'Le Meridien Mina Seyahi Polo Holidays', which has been received with equal interest," he said.

Group or individual lessons with stick and ball practice, plus chukkas for the more advanced riders aim to encourage greater interest in the game.

The Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club has a fine choice of ponies along with a ready supply of equipment, which may be hired, if required.

The polo season lasts for nine months from October 1 to May 15.

"There are few moments in sports to match the thrill of top class polo, whether from a spectators view or participating in the excitement of the game," Scully said.

Scully said Mina Seyahi also offered three boats equipped for sport fishing, each skippered by seasoned fishermen.

"The tag and release records that average between 6 and 8 sail per trip are proof of this phenomenal fishing, but to actually see the pods of sailfish finning in these calm seas is simply a thrilling experience," said Scully. The most sought-after larger gamefish, the `sailfish' are prevalent from October to mid April with the peak months normally being January to March.

The resort is within two minutes of the most famous Arabian golf club, The Emirates Golf Club. It sports two championship grade 18-hole courses and has been chosen as the venue for the Dubai Desert Classic, part of the European PGA tour.

The club's Bedouin-style clubhouse has become one of the most famous landmarks in Dubai. "To play on the immaculate greens of the Emirates Golf Club is to quite literally follow in the footsteps of the legendary Tiger Woods, Greg Norman and Ernie Els," he said.
