Anniversary offer at resort

Tee off this summer with special 20th anniversary rates at the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort in Dubai.

The Early Bird Package through to August is a generous special for early risers who tee off between 6.30am and 9.30am.

The package includes a 9-hole round of golf, the free use of a golf cart and continental breakfast - all for just Dh135 ($36) per person.

Jebel Ali's 9-hole par-36 Course is the home of the annual Challenge Match, the curtain-opener for the Dubai Desert Classic.

Golfing legend Tiger Woods, one of the world's top sportsman, played his first shot in the region on the Jebel Ali Golf Course earlier this year.

The resort course is scenically stunning, a journey of discovery. Playing it demands course management skills, strategic thinking and a good command of all strokes.

The fairway of the first hole, a par 5, is bordered by a stately avenue of trees, and encourages a smooth, easy swing into the game.

One of the most interesting is the 4th, offering a panoramic view of the Hotel. It features a difficult out of bounds left, a test for any golfer.

From here, it's on to the 5th, Old Gate House, a short par 4 which winds down to the mature gardens of the Hotel. The hole incorporates the original resort gatehouse - hence its name.

Hole number 6 is Peacock Place, named so in honour of the resort's most famous and prolific avian residents, roaming the grounds and golf course unencumbered.

Some 250 beautiful peacocks reside at the Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf resort, beloved by guests and staff. They are joined by numerous other bird species, including ducks, partridges and guinea fowl.
