A new Diva in town

ONE of the latest openings in Bahrain’s expanding hospitality sector is the four-star Diva Hotel set in the bustling Juffair district.

Launched in June, the 167-bedroom property, which has 64 non-smoking rooms, is the sister to the Dragon Hotel at Bahrain’s Amwaj Islands which opened around 18 months ago.

Both are operated by the Gama Hotels Group which also runs the long-established Best Western, also  in Juffair.

Targeting both business and leisure travellers, the Diva, whose watchword is ‘personally yours’ is furnished to the upper four-star standard offering spacious rooms and plentiful recreational facilities.

La Café is the hotel’s international restaurant which provides an a la carte menu and in-room dining and Davy Crockett’s, with its impressive live band, complements Kicks sports bar where big screens show the latest in sporting action from around the world.

With an eye to attracting business in what continues to be a difficult time for Bahrain’s hospitality industry, the hotel’s leisure managers are staging a series of events throughout the coming months with tribute bands and special occasion dinners.

And for those who prefer quieter recreation there is a well-equipped gymnasium and a rooftop pool with stunning views over the Manama skyline.

On the events side Diva has banqueting space to accommodate up to 175 guests with an in-house florist and events specialist on staff.

Juffair is close to the US Naval base in Bahrain and around 15 minutes drive from the international airport as well as the Manama financial centre.
