The Gulf will have the island’s largest Ramadan tent

FOR the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Gulf Hotel, Bahrain, has created a special package starting from only BD49 ($129) for single or double occupancy in one of its classical superior rooms, while the recently refurbished deluxe rooms will start from BD59 ($156).

The package includes complimentary buffet breakfast and full access to all the hotel facilities including gym, squash and tennis courts, valet car park and lagoon-style tropical swimming pool.

The Gulf Hotel, is internationally acclaimed for serving some of the best cuisine on the island. Firmly positioned as a foodies’ paradise and one of the most sought after visitor attractions in Bahrain, The Gulf has gone to great lengths to create a spectacular programme during the Holy Month.

Taking inspiration from Persia’s royal palace of Takht Jamsheed, the chic restaurant of the same name sets the stage for the perfect iftar buffet offering an array of Arabic and Iranian gems created by a talented all-Iranian team. Takht Jamsheed can seat up to 100 guests and a private dining room for up to 20 is also available.

The buffet is priced at BD14 ($37) with children under five eating free.

For the same price, Al Waha restaurant is a popular dining spot in the hotel where, during iftar, diners will be spoilt for choice with an extensive array of buffet fare featuring local Bahraini specialities, Arabic and international dishes. A key feature of the restaurant is its open plan kitchen where the chefs can be viewed chopping, whisking and marinating to create the world’s flavours.

This year’s ghabga tent promises to be the most luxurious and biggest on the island with a capacity for 600 people. Dining will be against a spectacular backdrop entwining traditional Arabic with ultra modern décor and the hotel’s chefs will prepare  an exquisite choice of traditional Arabic specialities including a range of live cooking stations featuring manakish, falafel and saj bread.

VIP areas will also be available as well as semi-private rooms for those preferring to dine majlis style. A traditional Arabic lounge provides the perfect setting for those looking to relax and enjoy a wide range of sheeshas or alternatively Arabic coffee and Moroccan tea served traditionally and there will be a non-stop live entertainment programme.

The ghabga tent is priced from BD13 ($34) for weekdays and BD15 ($39) at weekends.

The Gulf is also putting on an impressive show during Eid with Lebanese eatery Zahle launching an exclusive new entertainment programme featuring well known belly dancer Carlise accompanied by celebrated Arabic singer Ameera with special menu.

Eid buffets will be served for three days in Al Waha, Zahle and Takht Jamsheed and the hotel will be hosting a surprise exclusive concert on Eid day with details to be revealed during Ramadan.

Various outlets will be providing service for non-fasting guests during the Holy Month.
