THE 27th edition of BTC, Italy’s events exhibition, was due to open as TTN went to press with the exhibition floor promising to be packed.

The event takes place on June 30 and July 1 in pavilion C1 of the Fiera di Rimini Exhibition Centre, Rimini.

With more than 300 exhibitors, three themed areas and hosted buyers from Italy and Europe, the  programme included an open-air networking evening and more than 18 seminars conducted by Italian and international speakers from both the meetings and events sector and other industries.

Highlights were due to include the presentation of a new survey on the events market, which was conducted by the Piepoli Institute, commissioned by BTC and endorsed by industry association Federcongressi&eventi analysing investment in events by Italian and European companies for 2011, covering volumes, buying behaviour and organisational procedures, as well as international buyers’ perception of Italy as a destination.

Around two thirds of the hosted buyers at the event were expected to come from Italy and the remaining third from 13 European countries and Russia.

And the exhibition floor was to accommodate three new themed areas:

The MarkEvent, the marketing area managed by magazine P5 with 16 non-conventional exhibitors presenting tools, technologies and languages to turn an event into a marketing tool

Tech&Fun, the technology island created by Teknocongress, presenting three types of software that can be used to liven up an event, share and distribute content and ensure interactive communication among participants and

Personal Expert, the area where representatives from six Italian and international media organisations specialising in meetings and events made their know-how on selected topics available in one-to-one meetings.
