MARITIM Hotels opened its first hotel in China in July 2010, a 602 bedroom property in the Sanshan district, called Maritim Hotel Wuhu.

As the first anniversary approaches, and as a result of the success of the group’s first venture in China, Maritim has announce it will open three new properties in the county over the coming 12 months.

The first will be in north east China, in Shenyang, opening in May.  A luxury hotel boasting a 1,450-sq-m ballroom and 15 conference rooms, Maritim Hotel Shenyang will also feature a restaurant that specialises in German and Chinese cuisine.

The second property, Maritim Hotel Hui Zun, in Anting, Shanghai, is conveniently situated close to the Formula 1 track and the ‘Auto Exhibition Centre’.  Scheduled to open in winter 2011/2012, the 288-bedroom property will incorporate numerous conference facilities housed within two stunning towers.

The third hotel will open in Changzhou in Spring 2012.

Maritim Hotels’ director of international sales, Mark Spivey, said: “It is positive news that within a year of opening in China, we are able to announce plans for three further hotels in the country.  The Maritim brand has been well received in China, particularly our expertise in meetings and events, so expansion is a focus for the group in the next year.”

Maritim Hotels is Germany’s largest privately owned operator of conference facilities. In addition to 37 hotels in Germany, the company has 14 hotels around the world in locations as diverse as Mauritius, China, Egypt, Spain, Turkey, Latvia and Malta.
