KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has announced a restructuring that would see it expand in the competitive low-cost market.
"The big news is we have definitely decided to go on with low-cost for the time being," said spokesman Bart Koster after the Dutch carrier said it would revamp internally to focus on three key product areas: global network operations, leisure services and low-cost activities. KLM's two low-cost brands - Britain-based buzz and Dutch based Basiq Air will be placed in the hands of Floris van Pallandt, who currently heads KLM UK unit.
