Hilton Makadi to open in June

676 rooms: an artist’s perspective<BR>of the property

HILTON Worldwide is to operate its fourth property in Egypt with the signing of a management agreement with Afak Company for Touristic Development Company for a newly built 676-room resort.

The Hilton Makadi is expected to open doors as a Hilton Hotels & Resort in Q2 2012. Situated in Makadi Bay, Egypt’s new tourist oasis, 30 km south of Hurghada and 35 km from Hurghada International Airport, the hotel overlooks the Red Sea and boasts of a 400 m private sandy beach.

The opening of the Hilton Makadi Resort will take place in two stages. The first part of the hotel complex will be opened by June 2011 with 330 rooms. The second phase is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2012 and will see the opening of the remaining 346 rooms.

Hurghada, is also home to Hilton Hurghada Resort, Hilton Hurghada Plaza and Hilton Hurghada Long Beach Resort. The new hotel will feature two meeting rooms, three lounges, an all-day dining and two speciality restaurants and will offer three swimming pools, a health club, spa, and diving centre for leisure. The property will be the 17th Hilton Worldwide property in the country.

Hilton Worldwide currently has 44 hotels across 14 countries in the Middle East & Africa, with another 29 hotels under development.
